Ward 22 is a mixed colorectal and upper Gastrointestinal elective and emergency post -operative surgical ward. The ward has an 8 bedded acute bay to support ITU discharges and a step down area where patients receive the care pathway towards discharge home.

Ward 22 have developed a competency package for band 5 nurses (including newly qualified nurses) to ensure staff and given the skills and confidence to care for this group of patients.

The ward also has the additional support of a dedicated discharge support assistant and UHL
education nurses who provide regular clinical supervision shifts for new staff
You will work within a friendly and supportive team and be provided with expert professional advice and clinical leadership.

You should possess excellent communication skills, ensuring that improving patient care and the patient experience is your priority.
