We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Ophthalmology and Anaesthetic team as a Non-Medical sub Tenon Block Practitioner.

Based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, the successful candidate will be part of the Anaesthetic team and be responsible for delivering regional sub Tenon eye blocks for patients undergoing routine intra ocular surgery.

A programme of training, delivered by Ophthalmic and Anaesthetic Consultants, will be given during the training period and the successful candidate will be supported fully until they are competent and ready to work independently. Once working independently the successful candidate will be part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team delivering high quality, safe care to patients undergoing their ophthalmic surgery.

The role incorporates undertaking High risk outpatient anaesthetic assessment clinics both supporting anaesthetists and working autonomously as well as delivering sub Tenon blocks whilst supporting the designated operating sessions.

The ideal candidate needs to have excellent time management and communication skills and an awareness of ophthalmology procedures.
