Ward 29 is a 31 bedded unit delivering highly complex care to a range of patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. This pioneering unit is at the forefront of clinical developments both regionally and nationally. This role will provide the post holder with the opportunity to lead this dynamic and clinically focused team as a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to further strengthen the excellent reputation this unit has for providing high quality clinical care.

 

In the role you will provide strong and visible leadership to the nursing and support teams working on the unit. This will involve leading the day to day clinical and managerial operations of the Ward including the management aspects of running a unit, including rostering management, HR management, budgetary management and training and education. The role also has a strategic aspect and the post holder will be expected to bring new ideas to the table and support and lead innovative developments on the unit to enhance the patient experience and improve care quality.

 

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who is ready to the next step into a Band 7 clinical leadership role or to continue their development in a different specialty in this rare and exciting opportunity. You will need to be an excellent communicator both verbally and in written form and be visible, credible and an excellent role model for junior members of the team. You will need to be able to balance the clinical and non-clinical aspects of the role and therefore well-developed prioritisation and time management skills are essential.
