Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust provides a range of community health services for both physical and mental health conditions, as well as a range of specialist services supporting people of all ages including family and young people services, mental health, learning disabilities and physical health community and inpatient services.

We deliver services to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our 5500 staff serve a population of one million from over 100 sites across the region.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 4 Generic Technical Instructors (2x full time posts) to work within Community Therapy Services across East Leicestershire based at St Luke’s Treatment Centre, Market Harborough.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team to assist in delivering safe, effective, quality treatments including the assessment and rehabilitation of patients within their own homes and outpatient clinic settings as part of the Home First Model and Core Community Therapy.

You will work alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists carrying out comprehensive functional assessments and interventions in order to help our patients live as independently as possible. These interventions may include progression of exercises and mobility assessments, assessments of activities of daily living and rehabilitation. You will also be required to carry out general administration and clerical duties.

This post requires a level of personal responsibility and we are looking for someone highly motivated and proactive with the ability to prioritise their own workload, use their initiative and the ability to work on their own and as part of a team. You will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to adapt to a changing and pressurised environment.

In order to meet the requirements for this post you must have recent clinical experience working in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Therapy Technical Instructor roles and have a good general level of education.

Our teams are well established and enthusiastic about delivering a high quality assessment and treatment. We have a formal in service training programme to facilitate your professional development and you will be fully supported by senior staff and clinical specialists. You will also actively participate in regular supervision and appraisal review.

We recognise the need to develop modern working practices to enable employees to maximise their performance and productivity whilst maintaining a good work life balance. To this aim the Trust has adopted an Agile working methodology as outlined within the Trust Agile working Policy.

The post advertised falls under the Trust’s Agile working methodology, so if successful you will be appointed as an Agile Worker, and will need to work to the Trusts Agile working policy. Talk to the recruiting manager about what this means in practice for you.

We are committed to providing the best care that we can to our patients, and so some of our roles involve a Maths and English assessment. Where this is so, details will be shared with you as part of the recruitment process.

Details of our benefits, pledge and other important information about the application process, and working for us is contained in the documents linked to our advert.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, rosters are set in advance at a team level and you will be joining an established roster. To make the most of your application, we may consider successful applicants for vacancies for the same post in different locations where this is appropriate and meets our mutual requirements.

For all substantive roles the appointment of every new member of staff (excluding medical and dental staff) to a post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, details of which are in our Probation Policy.

We aim to develop a workforce that reflects our service users. To this end we actively implement equal opportunities in employment and service delivery and seek people who share our commitment. We strongly encourage applications from all sections of the community, particularly from underrepresented groups, including members of our black and minority ethnic communities. All jobs will require permission to work in the UK.

For all jobs the cost of undertaking a DBS disclosure at the required level will be met by the individual. This will be deducted from salary following commencement.

Requests from applicants to work alternative hours to those advertised may be considered.

Applicants who are currently ‘at risk’ within the local NHS, and meeting essential criteria will be given preference for interview over any other candidates who may apply for this post.
