Building on the NHS contribution to the 100,000 Genomes Project, the introduction of a national genomic medicine service has created 7 Genomic Laboratory Hubs (GLHs). The North West GLH is one of these seven GLHs and is hosted by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and includes sites in both Manchester and Liverpool.

We are seeking a state registered Clinical Scientist (Genetics) to join our team in Manchester working to deliver a modern high quality diagnostic service and cutting edge translational development.

Applications are also welcomed from candidates currently in the process of completing the Scientist Training Programme; please note that, if successful, appointment will be at band 6 until registration is attained.

This is a permanent position.

A flexible attitude is essential as is the ability to work to tight deadlines to meet professional reporting time guidelines. You will have an excellent track record in service delivery and a clear vision of what it takes to maintain and enhance the genomics laboratory service, including all aspects of quality and governance, efficiency and clinical utility. You will have experience of service development and training.
