Mammography Associate Practitioner

We are delighted to invite applications for a training post in mammography. Successful candidates will undertake studies in Clinical Mammography, Mammography Science, Quality Assurance, Team Working and Health and Safety.

You will have health care experience ideally but not essential within a breast care environment, be able to work as part of team and be positive in nature. We are looking for staff that bring motivation and a personality that promotes enthusiasm.

This post will train you in obtaining the qualifications to perform mammograms and be accredited on the National Breast Screening Programme. Once qualified, you will work with experienced and dedicated radiographers who have specialised in mammography.

Course Entry requirements

  • When starting the course applicants must be employed in Breast Screening Units or symptomatic units and be 18 years or older (we are advertising this post prior to the start date of the course)
  • Hold GCSEs or equivalent in English and maths at grade 4 or above or A* to C. (If applicants don’t have these qualifications you might be able to achieve them as part of the programme).
  • If you have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), or a legacy statement, the apprenticeship’s English and maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3.
  • British Sign Language qualifications are an alternative to English qualifications for whom this is their primary language.
  • Legally allowed to work the UK, and have lived here for the last three years.

We have 2 substantive posts available; a learning contract will be in place for the duration of the study.
