Sister/Charge Nurse - Acute Medical Unit Annex (AMU Annex)


The AMU Annex is a fast paced short stay unit which receives patients predominatly from the Assessment Units at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. The AMU annex is an area that will receive patients who are expected to be discharged home within twenty four hours.


We are offering an opportunity for a motivated individual with the drive and enthusiasm to lead the AMU Annex as a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse. You will be fully supported by a matron.


We are looking for a forward thinking individual who is willing to lead and develop patient services working to improve the patient experience including having knowledge into the discharge process. This role is about leadership and development. You must have a proven track record of progressive leadership and development. Be an effective role model, self-motivated with the passion, drive and adaptability to cope with continuously changing services.


You should possess excellent communication skills, be visible and accessible with quality and standards as your priority. You will need to be flexible, learn to be resilient in order to cope with the demands of the role. In addition you must be adaptable to change and influence your team members to enable you to implement and evaluate new ways of working.


We are looking for forward thinking, dynamic and enthusiastic individual with at least 2 years band 6 experience with evidence of leadership and management. You will support and develop the team ensuring they are valued and skilled to care for patients within a short stay area.
