Through the promotion of staff within our teams and expanding services we have a range of vacancies for qualified Childrens Nurses within our Children’s Hospital. We have an exciting project underway to re-configure our Children’s Hospital and bring the East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre over to the Leicester Royal Infirmary which will merge all children’s services together in a new bespoke Children’s Hospital. You could be part of the development and growth of children’s services in Leicester.

You will have the opportunity to develop your assessment and clinical skills. We are also able to support staff rotation to different areas to support learning and development.

We provide family-centred care for children requiring surgical, medical and emergency treatment. Our Children’s Hospital is a cutting edge centre for many paediatric services including intensive care, high dependency care, specialist surgery and respiratory specialties.


You will be part of an innovative multi-disciplinary team and will be directly involved in nurse led initiatives, supporting and educating families, as well as general nursing care. We offer many career opportunities as you progress within our team including fully autonomous Specialist Nursing roles.


To be successful you will be an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Children’s Nurse with excellent communication skills. In return we will offer you fantastic support with a full orientation package, preceptorship, a Band 5 development programme and on-going professional development opportunities with the support of our experienced Children’s Education and Practice Development Team. We are also able to support Adult & Learning Disability Nurses in some of our clinical areas.

Shift patterns include long days and night shifts, (Internal Rotation)
