Position: Child & Adolescent Mental Health Nurse Location: Alder Hey Children’s Hospital Foundation Trust, Dewi Jones Unit Pay Rates: Band 5 NHS Professionals are looking for Registered Child & Adolescent Mental Health Nurses to join the bank as part of Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust working at the specialist Dewi Jones Unit. The Dewi Jones Unit is a specialist tier 4-inpatient provision providing assessment, treatment and consultation services to children and their families presenting with a wide range of complex mental health problems across NHS England. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand existing skills and knowledge whilst working flexibly when it’s convenient for you. Requirements To apply for this position, you must: • Be a registered mental health nurse. • have evidence of knowledge and understanding of child/adolescent mental health problems and approaches to assessment and treatment. • have a minimum of 6 months experience within a children’s mental health setting, ideally within the last 2 years. Roles and Responsibilities As a bank paediatric mental health nurse, you will be responsible for the following: • Ensuring the delivery of a high standard of family centred assessment and treatment plans. • Assisting in the planning, implementation and evaluation of family centred nursing care. • Supporting the delivery of a range of daily activity groups and individual activities. • Providing a range of therapeutic approaches on an individual, group or family basis. • Providing high quality, clear, written and verbal accounts of the child’s stay in relation to the defined care and management plans. • Contributing to evidence based clinical nursing reports. • Assisting the team in the provision of complex daily routines and structures in the context of a safe, healthy and therapeutic environment.
