CAMHS inpatients are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity to be a band 5 nurse to come and join our expanding team

We have a new and exciting purpose built unit at the Bradgate site at Leicester Glenfield Hospital coming next year for 15 acute and eating disorder patients aged 13- 18. We are looking for motivated, proactive, enthusiastic and caring professionals to expand our well established team.

As part of the inpatient services you would be part of our MDT team comprising on consultant psychiatrist, psychology, psychotherapy, family therapy and nursing staff. Whilst on the ward you will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing evidence based care to service users who are acutely unwell. You will also take part in running shifts and coordinating and delegating nursing duties to the nursing team. The inpatient service is continually developing and exploring ways to increase nursing expertise to offer wider therapies. Whilst working on the ward you will be expected to work shifts cover 7 days a week including early, late and night

We are looking to train staff to a high standard to meet the needs of the new unit and offer a rolling monthly training programme for all staff. We believe all our staff can develop leadership qualities and if you can demonstrate yours there will be opportunities to nurture and develop them.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health expertise and experience is desirable, but NOT essential as we recognize that expertise and experience in adult mental health and physical health is easily transferable. Experience in Eating Disorders is also desirable. In addition we offer opportunities to enhance your existing skills and learn new ones

Successful applicants for this post will automatically be provided with a Bank Workers agreement in addition to their substantive contract to provide both staff and our services with maximum flexibility for earnings and service delivery. Staff may opt out of the Bank Workers agreement at any point.
