We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Orthoptic graduate with a qualification in Orthoptics and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council, to join our team of 15 Orthoptists

We have an exciting opportunity for highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic individual to work within the multi professional team in the Ophthalmology department

The Orthoptic Department at UHL sees all types of ocular motility disorders and we provide a large neuro-ophthalmology service and receive referrals from other specialties including, maxilo facial, endocrinology and paediatrics. Extended roles within the department include Goldmann and Humphrey visual field testing, biometry and intra ocular pressure measurements. We provide the orthoptic service for 6 peripheral community hospitals.


This role is intricate to the delivery of the service and you will be expected to work closely with other departments within the Trust to provide high quality, holistic patient centred care.

We are looking for candidates who share our passion for patient care, with a strong belief in influencing the quality agenda, who are willing to work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide innovative, rapid, joined up care to patients in an environment that supports the education and development of all colleagues alike. There will be evening and weekend working.
