Senior Sexual Health Advisor

The post holder will support, advise and educate the client group to encourage the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, early diagnosis and treatment of infections and attendance of others at risk. The post holder will promote a positive attitude towards sexual health, to persons often from stigmatised or vulnerable persons from marginalised groups.

The Senior Sexual Health Advisor will assist in the management of direct public, other trusts and community referrals for patients with sexual health needs. They will facilitate screening, treatments and partner notification activities. They will work towards local and national sexual health and HIV targets and manage complex, highly sensitive public health issues.

The Senior Sexual Health Advisor will be responsible for establishing a new Health Advisor service within Wakefield's Integrated Sexual Health Service, ensuring that all the facets of good clinical practice is implemented, which guarantees the best outcomes for patients. The post will require leadership and management of the Health Advisor Team, operationally and strategically. It will also include the development of the wider clinical team in relation to services pertaining to health advising. This post will also be one of the service’s senior team members responsible for safeguarding.

The post holder should be motivated, dynamic and willing to work on their own and as part of a team. They will be expected to support other members of the clinical team in working towards the key performance indicators set by our commissioners.
