Do you have a keen interest in Renal Dietetics and Nutritional Support within an acute specialist hospital setting?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Dietitian to work in our friendly Nutrition and Dietetic Service based at the Leicester General Hospital site, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL Trust). This post will provide a pro-active and co-ordinated nutrition and dietetic service to patients within the Renal Speciality and the Stroke Unit. You will have a chance to cover all aspects of renal disease including Acute Renal Failure, Pre-dialysis care, Haemodialysis, Home Therapies and Transplantation as part of a high profile and valued team of Renal Dietitians working as core members of the multi-professional team.

We are looking for a motivated, active team player, with good communication skills and vision to continue to promote the nutrition and dietetic service within these specialities. You will be part of a team of Renal Dietitians based at the LGH site and will be encouraged to develop leadership as well as clinical skills.

The UHL Nutrition and Dietetic Service has a strong commitment to professional and personal development There are also well defined CPD and clinical supervision models in place within the service. In addition to this is the UHL Nutrition and Dietetic Service is involved in all aspects of undergraduate dietetic training as we provide A,B,C block placements and you will play an active part in this.

The UHL Nutrition and Dietetic Service has a commitment to training other health professionals, carers and patient groups which will provide the opportunity to develop your presentation skills.

We are a progressive Service which actively contributes to UHL clinical governance and risk management agenda and has established clinical audit programme which you will be encouraged to contribute to.

 

Preference will be given in the first instance to existing NHS employees within the East Midlands healthcare community who are ‘at risk’ of redundancy. Such employees within the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust will be considered first.’
