Specialist Children’s Community Physiotherapist (Band 6)

 

1X Permanent contract

1X Fixed term 1 year contract

(Full time, part time hours considered minimum 22.5 hours)

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join our community based team working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We have bases in Loughborough, Hinckley and the city and it could be in anyone of those areas

The Children’s Physiotherapy Service seeks to provide a high quality service to children and their families in their home, nurseries and schools. We have developed pathways within Early Years, Complex Disability and Physical disability, and specialist interests in eating and drinking difficulties, palliative care, neuromuscular conditions, hemiplegia, postural care, spasticity management and orthotics and have the support of a Clinical Professional Lead.

 

You will need to demonstrate flexibility and initiative, to work as part of a Multidisciplinary and Multi Agency Team. You will need to be able to manage your time effectively and will be required to manage a designated caseload.

 

You will gain support and supervision in order to continue to develop your Physiotherapy skills with children and young people. You will be responsible for supervision and support of junior staff, support staff and students. We encourage continuous professional development through both internal and external training as part of the Personal Development Plan process.

 

You need to be able to demonstrate an understanding of working in a community setting, the complexities of working within a family and a multidisciplinary multiagency environment, be familiar with children’s equipment and their use and be skilled in the delivery of a number of assessments and interventions used by Physiotherapists in community children’s services.

 

Car owner/driver essential as it is unlikely that public transport will meet the needs of this job.
