The NHS Blood & Transplant Components Development Laboratory is an internationally recognised laboratory performing a wide range of research and development projects to improve the quality and safety of blood components for transfusion.

A position is currently available for an experienced Senior Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive office and administrative support to the National Head of Component Development and the Component Development Laboratory team based in NHSBT Cambridge.

The candidate will be responsible for the preparation of papers for meetings, taking minutes, researching the internet for relevant literature, co-ordinating travel (both in UK and overseas), accommodation arrangements, diary management and communication with senior personnel within NHSBT.

A high standard of written and spoken English is required. This is a demanding role which will require excellent organisational skills with experience of working in a busy office environment and a high level of competency using Microsoft Office, including creation of and accurate maintenance of spreadsheets. The postholder must also be a flexible team player with excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
