The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the LRI are recruiting! We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced nurses to work within a critical care team providing direction and inspirational leadership to the nursing and multi-disciplinary team as a Deputy Sister/ Charge Nurse.

Leicester Royal Infirmary ICU is an exciting and rewarding place to work. We have been granted a significant investment to expand and modernise our service. This is a really exciting time to join our team and begin or continue your leadership journey.

On our ICU you will be exposed to and gain experience with varied case mix of patients’ including elective surgical patients and those patients admitted from the hospitals newly built emergency department.

The post holder will be an expert clinical practitioner, be required to work shifts, and be an enthusiastic integral member of our well established and committed teams, providing and supervising the delivery of excellent quality care. The post holder will be responsive to the needs of patients, carers and the public.

Wider responsibilities include the provision of a supportive learning environment for continuing education; reporting to the Senior Sister and supporting the wider organisation; shift leadership; managing resources and information.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working within the critical care environment at band 5. A period of supervision and structured training and support will be available. We can offer a wide range of development opportunities including our band 6/7 development study package to enable you to progress further should you desire.
