Due to maternity leave an exciting opportunity for a Fixed term Children’s Occupational Therapist to join the growing South West Hants Paediatric Occupational Therapy team has arisen. South West Hants Paediatric OT team is the largest of the Paediatric Occupational Therapy teams within Solent NHS Trust. We are an evolving proactive and strong supportive team who welcome new ideas, members of the team and who embrace flexible working.

We are looking for a motivated, flexible and creative Occupational Therapist who is motivated to develop their clinical skills with children. Ideally you will need to have some experience working with children and ideally some experience working in the community. The role will include managing a caseload of children with a range of motor learning and physical disabilities in mainstream schools predominantly in the Eastern area of SW Hants (eg. Wickham, Botley, Burselden and Hamble) You will need to work in an autonomous way but with support.

We have developed an integrated model of working with Therapy teams increasingly working together to provide holistic models of care. In addition excellent working relationships with early years, schools, health and social care colleagues is allowing us to share our expertise more widely and create innovative ways of working together to better meet the needs of both the child and their family.

We have a telephone advice line and a Schools Therapy Resource Pack and we run regular INSET training to empower families, pre-schools and schools to support children at a universal and targeted level with their participation.
