We are seeking to recruit an experienced senior nurse to join our corporate team as an Assistant Chief Nurse to provide strong professional leadership and strategic direction to the nursing and midwifery workforce within the Trust supporting our staff to be the best they can be.

The successful post-holder will deputise for the Chief Nurse and Deputy Chief Nurse as required and will lead on organisation wide projects to support the development and implementation of the Nursing, Quality Improvement and People Strategies


The post-holder will provide a highly visible, accessible and authoritative presence and be responsible for managing the Trusts temporary staffing service and electronic rostering team. The role will continue to build on the success of our nursing, midwifery and HCA recruitment and retention programmes, so it is essential that applicants can demonstrate knowledge and experience of national workforce initiatives in addition to expert knowledge in safer staffing and nurse acuity.

To apply for this post you must be a Level 1 Registered Nurse/Midwife with a Masters level qualification in a nursing or health related subject (or equivalent experience).

You must demonstrate significant experience of managing complex operational and professional nursing agendas in a large organisation. You will also have an in-depth knowledge of nurse recruitment and retention initiatives and possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills which inspire, motivate and influence at all levels.
