For over four decades Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity have provided outstanding palliative care to its community and its services have made a huge impact on many families lives across Hampshire.

The journey towards end of life can be a complex one. Medical advances and changes in family lives mean that the care we provide to our patients and their families constantly evolves to meet the needs and expectations of our Community. For us to extend our services further to reach more people we need to recruit additional staff to support our outstanding services, here at the Hospice.

About the Role:

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant to support our Financial Controller. Flexibility with your working hours is a must as you may be required to support activities/events outside of normal office hours.

You will be responsible for:

  • completing bank and cash reconciliations
  • sales ledger and credit control
  • purchase ledger administration and payments of suppliers
  • month and year end administration
  • organisation and control of financial filing systems and administration

About you:

As our Accounts Assistant, it is essential that you can thrive in a busy environment, often working on your own initiative. You will be a credible individual with excellent communication and influencing skills and the ability to build effective relationships quickly.

You will need to have the ability to demonstrate strong organisational and administration skills as well as be highly organised and able to prioritise and meet deadlines. You will have previous accounts experience and be qualified to AAT level 3 or equivalent. You will ideally have experience of working within a Hospice or NHS organisation or Charity. You will ensure accuracy and attention to detail across all avenues of your work.

You will be able to think on your feet, adapt to change and plan ahead to ensure that you meet the organisational deadlines. You must ensure that you remain up to date on issues relating to the role.

You will also need to be able to build and maintain excellent working relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
