For over four decades Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity have provided outstanding palliative care to its community and its services have made a huge impact on many families lives across Hampshire.

The journey towards end of life can be a complex one. Medical advances and changes in family lives mean that the care we provide to our patients and their families constantly evolves to meet the needs and expectations of our Community. For us to extend our services further to reach more people we need to recruit additional staff to support our outstanding services, here at the Hospice.



BAND 2 Agenda for Change

37.5 hours per week to be worked on a shift rotation

This is an exciting time to join our inpatient unit as we develop and expand our services to support more patients at our Hospice in Southampton.

We are an independent charity providing palliative and end of life care and support to the community of Hampshire. Our Hospice forms part of an experienced and knowledgeable alliance of care providers in the local area and who share the vision of providing excellent and individualised care and support to people living with a terminal illness, at a time and place that is right for them and their families.

We have exciting opportunities for individuals to join us working as a Health Care Assistant on our well-established clinical teams here at Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity.

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be supporting our trained members of staff providing individualised care to our patients. You will be required to complete housekeeping and clerical tasks e.g. preparation of drinks, breakfasts, completion of menus etc.

You will ideally possess previous care experience and be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills together with the ability to be part of a team. A commitment to the work of the Hospice is essential along with NVQ 2 or equivalent or be willing to study to complete this qualification. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in palliative care and the future developments of the Hospice.

Successful candidates will be required to work a variety of shifts covering 24/7 care across day and night rotation.

The salary for this post will be dependent upon experience, subject to Agenda for Change. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS Disclosure, which is provided to the successful candidates.
