NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group is the third largest in England, with a population of over 750,000 and more than 80 member practices. Dorset has attracted attention nationally and is now one of the leading Clinical Commissioning Groups to develop as an Integrated Care System.

We have an ambitious programme of change. We have consulted our public on a Dorset wide review of Clinical Services and have withstood the challenge of a judicial review. The next chapter of our ambitious journey is to implement the proposed changes.

We know staying the same is not an option if we want to better meet the needs of local people, reduce inequalities and improve health. That is why we have created a common vision for the future health system we want for Dorset and we are working towards a sustainable plan for our integrated health and social care system. As a Governing Body lay member and as an independent lay member you will play a crucial leadership role in ensuring the delivery of our ambitions.

We are seeking applications from individuals who can bring their unique perspective, informed by their experience and expertise. You must be able to bring a broader view on health and in particular a depth of understanding in relation to the role you wish to apply for. We are looking for individuals who bring a passion to improve services and who draw on relevant experience and qualifications to actively challenge and bring objectivity to the decisions we make.

Eligibility

Applicants should have no conflicts of interest and they should not be employed by any organisation from which NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group secures any significant volume of provision.

For the Governing Body positions, the notional time commitment for the role is 2.5 days per month (on average) and you will be remunerated at £18,000 per annum.

For the independent lay member, the notional time commitment for the role is 1 days per month (on average) and you will be remunerated at £3,600 per annum.

You will be required to complete a short application form to express your interest in this role. The closing date for expressions of interest is 25 January 2019 with interviews scheduled for week commencing 11 February 2019 (Dorchester).
