Glenfield Hospital AICU are seeking a dynamic, motivated and experienced individual to work within a critical care team providing direction and inspirational leadership to the nursing and multi-disciplinary team within our Adult Intensive Care Unit.

Glenfield Hospital ICU is a busy and progressive Intensive Care Unit, the regional Cardiac Centre and the nationally recognised Adult ECMO facility. ICU also supports specialist services including cardiac and thoracic surgery, cardiology, vascular and respiratory. The proposed UHL reconfiguration will bring Hepato-biliary, vascular and renal transplant to the site. We currently have 21 beds at Glenfield with plans to expand further.

The post holder will be an expert clinical practitioner, be required to work shifts, and be an enthusiastic integral member of our well established and committed teams, providing and supervising the delivery of excellent quality care. The post holder will be responsive to the needs of service users, patients, carers and the public.

Wider responsibilities include the provision of a supportive learning environment for continuing education; reporting to the Senior Sister and supporting the wider organisation; shift leadership; managing resources and information; and co-ordinating elective and emergency activity and the provision of care within the Intensive Care Service across UHL.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in this environment and should ideally have 3 years’ experience at working at Band 5 level in a critical care area. A period of supervision and structured training and support will be available and we can offer a wide range of development opportunities.
