Band 6 £30,401 to £37,267 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for five highly motivated Registered Nurses to join the Musculoskeletal Directorate in the role of a Nurse Practitioner. The Musculoskeletal Directorate has Regional Services which are across two hospital sites, the Freeman Hospital and the Royal Victoria infirmary, specializing in Elective and Emergency services providing specialist care, Specialized treatments and Specialized surgical procedures. The Directorate offers a comprehensive range of services which includes; Arthroplasty surgery, upper and lower limb surgery, a Regional Sarcoma Service, Orthopaedic Trauma service, a Major trauma service and a Regional Spinal service for Trauma and Elective surgery.

The Nurse Practitioner posts will work within a team consisting of Consultant Surgeons, Nurse specialists and the Directorate Medical and Nursing teams. You will be required to work as part of the diverse Ward / Multidisciplinary team but also will need to work independently. You need to be a Registered nurse with experience in a nursing role, educated to degree level and have a sound knowledge of Orthopaedic surgical care.

If you do not meet all of the essential criteria at Band 7 your appointment will be at Band 6 level until the attainment of skills, knowledge and the academic component at University over 36 months. This role will be a rotational role based between four inpatient Musculoskeletal wards, providing a Monday to Friday day time service. You will need to be creative, highly motivated and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

The successful candidates will need to demonstrate their alignment to the Trust values and Professional Leadership behaviours and an ongoing commitment to continuously improving the quality of the service that is delivered in addition to monitoring and maintaining quality standards of care.
