Brief Description of the Role:

The Yorkshire Quality and Safety Research Group is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly organised and motivated team player to take a leading role in the conduct and management of a significant programme of patient safety research.

The Partners at Care Transitions programme grant, funded by the National Institute for Health Research, has developed a complex intervention designed to support older patients transitioning from hospital to home. The intervention aims to improve patient experience and reduce readmissions.

This role requires extensive qualitative expertise as the successful candidate will take a lead role in designing and delivering an implementation package and conducting process evaluation work. These skills will be applied within a trial feasibility study and a future multi-centre randomised controlled trial across the Yorkshire and Humber region. Within this there will be opportunities to work with national and international experts in the area of patient safety and develop knowledge / experience in resilient healthcare theories and approaches, behaviour change, implementation research and trial management.

The Yorkshire Quality & Safety Research Group:

The successful candidate will join our team, which sits within two wider research networks:, the Yorkshire Quality and Safety Research group (YQSR group) and the NIHR Yorkshire & Humber Patient Safety Translational Research Centre. This dynamic group of researchers has established a national and international reputation for working collaboratively across institutions and disciplines to address key, clinically relevant questions in patient safety.

The group comprises researchers and leading academics from the Universities of Leeds, York and Bradford teamed with clinicians and managers from the Yorkshire and Humber health community, with the ultimate aim of making a real impact on the way health services are delivered.

The YQSR group is a friendly, hard-working and enthusiastic team housed within a bespoke research institute (the Bradford Institute for Health Research), with easy transport links to elsewhere in the region.
