An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work within the Leicester Hospitals Reconfiguration Programme Team.


The successful candidate will join us at a pivotal time at Leicester Hospitals where our strategic direction is set and the team are working to deliver the Reconfiguration strategy to achieve our overarching ambition to support the Hospitals to achieve "Caring at it's Best".


The Reconfiguration Team are leading on key transformational Programmes and Projects including:




    • The Reconfiguration Programme – this is the overarching programme that will deliver the single biggest transformation to UHL in over 20 years with new dedicated facilities for example a new Maternity Hospital and a Treatment Centre


    • The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Programme – this complex programme has a range of projects and task groups spanning all three hospital sites to provide new ICU facilities, a Day Case hub and service relocations


    • East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre – this project creates a new home for the children’s heart service in the first phase of the new Children’s Hospital at the LRI


The role is pivotal in supporting the Reconfiguration Team, acting as the first point of contact for queries from multiple stakeholders about the progress of programmes and projects undertaken across the service.


You will be responsible for the management of the administration supporting the programmes including: defining processes, coordination, and maintaining standards throughout all projects, provide general project support and support change control records as well as general administrative duties. Working as an autonomous team member and as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team you will report to the Head of UHL Reconfiguration Programme Management Office and work with Senior Project Managers appropriate to the projects you are supporting.


You must be proactive, have the ability to work on your own initiative and be a good communicator with a high standard of written skills. Previous NHS experience and an understanding of how the organisation works is an advantage, but knowledge of projects is essential. The candidate should also be able to work autonomously and plan and prioritise work effectively. The post holder will require strong communication skills; the ability to work under pressure; experience in working with people face-to-face; strong organisational and administrative skills
