Stroke Unit, Leicester Royal Infirmary Hospital

We are recruiting Band 6 Registered Nurses to work on the Stroke Unit at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. The Unit is a 36 bedded specialist acute unit, situated across Wards 25 and 26 within Level 3 of Windsor Building.

The Unit has 8 bedded Hyper-acute Assessment Unit situated within ward 25, with two separate four bedded bays for male and female hyper-acute patients.

Ward 25 has 10 further beds for male acute stroke patients.

Ward 26 accommodates 18 acute female stroke patients.

Previous experience within stroke would be an advantage, as would familiarity with the national stroke recommendations and Quality Performance targets.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced role model with proven leadership and people management skills. We require individuals who are passionate about stroke care and committed to meeting the needs of our patient group and delivering the highest standard of care.

You will have the opportunity to gain training and skills that will enable you to work as part of our Rapid Access Protocol (RAP) team whilst gaining leadership skills and helping us to continue developing our service.
