Band 7 Ward Sister / Charge Nurse

Coalville Hospital - Inpatients (Ellistown Ward - Ward 2)

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the Band 7 Ward Sister or Charge Nurse for Ellistown Ward at Coalville Community Hospital.

Ellistown (ward 2) is a medical stepdown and palliative care ward.

Full time post preferred but part time will be considered (4 days per week)

Job Type: permanent

We are looking for an experienced Band 6 - Adult Registered Nurse with strong clinical & managerial skills, enthusiasm and motivation to provide visible leadership on the ward. The post holder will be experienced Band 6 nurse who can demonstrate they have a range of transferable skills from their experience in a hospital and/ or community setting.

The successful candidate will be supported develop their leadership ability and management skills and will lead by example to deliver excellence in patient care. You will need to hold a mentoring qualification as the ward takes a number of nursing students as well as newly qualified and return to practice nurses for their preceptorship.

We are looking for a Level 1 Registered Nurse with excellent communication and organisational skills who enjoys working in a fast paced ever-changing environment. You will be expected to be able to work as part of a team and lead that team to deliver the highest possible standards of patient care. This post is in our in-patient hospital ward caring predominantly for frail elderly medically unwell female patients. This ward manages a range of specialities including sub – acute medicine, complex discharge & palliative care.

All our community Hospital wards all have a multi-disciplinary approach to patient management. Nursing and therapy are integral within the ward team. Supported by the Matron, Lead nurse and our ward sister network support process you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous management of the ward and contributing to high standards of care delivery through your professional accountability, innovative thinking and clear vision for Ellistown ward.
