The NIHR Clinical Research Network East Midlands (CRN EM) provides a world-class research infrastructure embedded in the NHS to support participation in NIHR Portfolio research studies across England. The network is hosted by University of Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust. It covers a large geographical area incorporating partners across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire. Research is delivered across 30 clinical specialty areas organised into six research delivery divisions.

A central objective of CRN East Midlands Division 5 is to develop the evidence base to inform the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of illness and disease in primary care through facilitating the conduct of clinical trials and other well-designed studies. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Division 5 team.

They will play a key role in supporting the delivery and development of primary care portfolio research predominately within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR). In addition to supporting other counties within the East Midlands should this be required. The post holder will work closely with the Research Delivery Manager and Operation Manager for Division 5, Primary Care Team Leader and Study Support Manager for Primary Care to drive forward and develop network capacity within the LLR region to enable primary care practitioners of all professions to undertake CRN East Midlands Division 5 research.

Applicants will be a registered healthcare professional or have an appropriate degree. You must have recent experience of delivering research within a clinical setting and a good working knowledge of health services research methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as this role requires close working with a number of stakeholders, senior managers and staff to be kept informed about current and future research opportunities within Division 5 primary care. As the post requires extensive travel throughout the LLR region, and occasionally further afield, you must be able to demonstrate that you have access to a vehicle or other means of travel to these locations.
