Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust provides a range of community health services for both physical and mental health conditions, as well as a range of specialist services supporting people of all ages including family and young people services, mental health, learning disabilities and physical health community and inpatient services.

We deliver services to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our 5500 staff serve a population of one million from over 100 sites across the region.


30 hours post working- 6 hrs shift

Friday- Sunday early shifts, Monday and Thursday late shifts.

We now have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly ward team on Swithland Ward, Loughborough Hospital. We are seeking a flexible, energetic person with good communication skills and a desire to make a difference.

Swithland Ward staff care for patients with a wide range of health care needs including: sub-acute medicine, rehabilitation and palliative care.

The ward housekeeper primary roles are:

•To ensure nutrition remains a high priority, facilitating current initiatives as well as being instrumental in developing future ideas to enhancing care.

•To ensure the ward environment is meeting the high standards of infection control & cleanliness

•To support the ward ordering of supplies

•To support and improve the patient experience

The successful candidate will have a pleasant courteous manner, excellent communication and organisational skills and with support from the Ward Sister be able to manage their own workload.

You will be a motivated team member who is able to undertake a variety of tasks efficiently focusing on ensuring that patients are supported throughout the day with meals and drinks.

Liaising with catering staff, dietitians and ward staff, you will be expected to assist patients in their selection, preparation and intake of diet and fluids.

The role of the Housekeeper requires good time management skills, the ability to plan own work and to be able to ensure that meal times are patient focused.

We are looking for candidates already working in this area within a ward or hospitality area or can demonstrate transferable skills.

We actively encourage staff development and aim to provide a flexible workforce to meet service need. You must have a flexible approach to your working hours and should also be keen to undertake any training required to fulfil your role. Previous care experience within a Care Home or Hospital and IT literacy would be advantageous.
