This post offers an exciting opportunity to join the national Quality Assurance team which provides support, advice and guidance on Quality Management Systems and regulatory compliance across the length and breadth of NHS Blood and Transplant.

This role, which will require travel as well as some time spent behind a desk, will also have a key people focus. With excellent communication and influencing skills you will be expected to build good working relationships with individuals working within the Blood Donation Directorate to ensure donor, product and patient safety compliance requirements are understood and adhered to.

While providing support for the planning and implementation of development projects and being a point of contact for day to day advice and guidance under business as usual, you will also be expected to assist in responding to and managing Quality Incidents and audit findings (linking with regulators as required).

Given the need for awareness and adherence to statutory requirements, previous experience of working in a Quality Assurance or a regulated life science / healthcare environment is required.

MSc Degree qualified, or equivalent, you will also have a working knowledge of relevant standards such as the ISO 9000 series and the EC guide to GMP.

You could be based, by prior agreement and providing office space is available, at any of the NHSBT’s National Centres.

The normal working hours for this role are 37.5 hours per week, core office hours over Monday – Friday (exact working hours can be discussed at interview).
