We are offering an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced, professional and highly motivated Registered Children's Nurse to join our Children's Safeguarding Team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate that you can work effectively with multi-agency colleagues. You will have an understanding of the legislative and best practice frameworks that underpin the safeguarding agenda, including the Children Act and Working Together to Safeguard Children.


The primary focus of the role will be to support the effective delivery of all child safeguarding services. As a first point of contact the post holder will provide expert advice, professional support, guidance and education to the multi-professional teams, partner agencies, patients and carers. You must have the ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to prioritise and manage your own workload. You must be committed to advocating for the rights of the child and act as a professional role model at all times. You must be willing and able to professionally challenge practice and to support clinical areas.

The post holder will report to the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children and will be supported by a team of Senior Specialist Nurses for Safeguarding Children. The post holder will provide a service across all sites and CMGs of the Trust. The post is full time and the successful candidate will need to cover the role of Named Nurse in times of absence.

Applicants wishing to apply for this post should be a Registered Children's Nurse with significant and relevant post registration experience at Band 6 or above. Evidence of professional development is essential.
