Theatre posts are suitable for both newly qualified and experienced practitioners. You would work as part of a highly skilled team where you can gain a wealth of experience, supported by a Senior Team including a Clinical Educator. Candidates interested in developing a career in theatres will have the opportunity to develop a range of relevant skills, including, intravenous drug administration, scrubbing techniques.

Central Theatres Freeman Site

Within The Central Operating department at the Freeman Hospital we have 20 Theatres and 240 staff we are a tertiary referral center for Urology, Vascular/General surgery and HPB, we also cover ENT, Orthopedics and transplantation of Liver, Kidneys and Pancreas. The transplant team is also involved in the retrieval of organs. There is also two Da Vinci Robots located within the department. We also have a 24hr a day recovery and PACU service

Central Theatres RVI site

The RVI is the most Northerly Level One Trauma centre in the country and as such we provide expert Peri operative care for patients admitted with multiple injuries, as well as support for those admitted for a variety of routine surgical procedures.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated people to join our Theatres. We have 33 theatres and over 364 theatre staff in our departments. The theatres at the R.V.I. are situated in 5 theatre suites covering such specialties as Plastics and burns, Trauma, neurology, ophthalmology, general surgery, gynecology and Private Patients.

Cardiothoracic Theatres

The Cardiothoracic department at is a tertiary center for all adult and pediatric, elective and emergency procedures including transplantation. Cardio Theatres comprises of 5 theatres and 7 catheter labs. The Cardiac Catheter laboratory is an exciting and dynamic unit comprised of six radio diagnostic rooms, screening room and three recovery areas. Within this area all aspects of diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures are undertaken for paediatric and adult patients. This includes percutaneous coronary intervention, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation and arrhythmia procedures using conscious sedation.
