Salary:

Come and join our dynamic team of nurses, saving and improving lives through tissue donation.

This is an opportunity for 2 nurses to be part of the Organ Donation Team in Oxford and set up a referral system for tissue donors.

This role will require excellent communication skills and diplomacy but what we really need is you to bring your upbeat, passionate personality to the team.

In this multi-layered role, you will act as the pivotal interface between a broad spectrum of professionals, such as Ward Nurses, Directors of Nursing and Donation Committees within the Trusts, and the NHSBT National Referral Centre. Your key remit will be to create networks of nurses and raise their awareness of the eye and tissue donation selection criteria across your hospitals and share your expertise and training with these colleagues. The measure of success for this role will be increasing the number of ocular referrals to the National Referral Centre from the hospitals within the region.

As an ambassador for donation, this role would be well-suited to someone who has an engaging personality and the passion to influence colleagues to support ocular donation. You will therefore be an NMC registered Nurse, with either an MSc in a related healthcare field or equivalent experience. You will have a proven track-record in either a clinical teaching / training role and experience embedding new systems or processes in a hospitals environment. With the gravitas to engage and influence key professionals across your region. You will have exceptional communication skills, and the capacity to make effective decisions in a constantly-changing environment. Above all else, you will be passionate about the benefits of ocular donations and inspiring others to support this cause to improve the lives of people with life changing sight conditions.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Emma Winstanley on emma.winstanley@nhsbt.nhs.uk.

Please note that this is a permanent position.

Interviews expected to be held on the 26th July 2019.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
