An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to work within the financial management team. The focus will be in the provision of financial information and analysis to Budget Holders and Senior Finance staff, while supporting the Directorate Accountant in the management of a small team.

Role Responsibilities:

Ensure the delivery of a high quality financial management service.

Play an advanced role in assisting the Directorate Accountant in the provision of a high quality financial management service, deputising when necessary, which will include leading a small team of staff.

Work closely with senior Trust Corporate and / or Directorate Management, providing timely and accurate information and advice to facilitate the effective monitoring and management of the Trust’s financial position and to support the decision making process.

Play a significant role in the formulation of the Trust’s annual budget

To ensure that financial controls are maintained within Corporate Governance guidelines.

Person Specification:

The post is suited to a diploma level of a professional accountancy qualification or equivalent experience.

Strong communication skills are essential, due to the need to communicate complex, sensitive or contentious information to a range of different audiences using a range of different communication methods.

Able to work autonomously to manage own workload and change priorities as necessary to achieve key tasks, and support colleagues to prioritise and achieve their deadlines

Demonstrable experience in management accounting, including ability to provide detailed guidance and advice to finance and non-finance managers within own area.

A flexible approach is required to fulfil the duties in an environment with ever changing and/ or conflicting priorities.
