Paediatric Emergency Department

Registered Nurses – Band 5

It’s not just our patients that want to get better!

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is one of the largest in England and has one of the busiest Children’s Emergency Departments in the country, we see approximately 55,000 children each year. The Children’s ED incorporates a 12 bed Short Stay Unit for children for up to 18 hours observation and is part of the rotation for all staff.

We are looking to recruit dynamic paediatric nurses to join our friendly and talented team who strive to deliver high quality emergency care to patients presenting with a broad spectrum of conditions.

This is a rewarding but demanding post that requires committed and dedicated nurses to provide quality care to infants, children, young people and their families/carers from a diverse population

We are looking for Band 5 nurses with drive, enthusiasm and commitment to achieve high standards of nursing care, as well as our goals and aspirations in the future.

You will join a forward thinking multi-disciplinary children’s team dedicated to delivering high standards of care in a challenging environment.

No two days are the same in the Emergency Department so if you are looking for a fast paced job with the opportunity to develop various extended skills and having experience in an acute setting is an advantage but not a requirement.

There is a comprehensive induction program with mentor ship for your first year including preceptor ship for newly qualified nurses. We are committed to continuing professional development which is underpinned by our in house educational program facilitated by the ED Practice Educator.
