UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS OF LEICESTER NHS TRUST

CONSULTANT IN INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND OPAT

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Department of Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine for 1 new Consultant Physician. The successful applicant will work clinically on the inpatient Infectious Diseases Unit and assist in developing our established Outpatient Antimicrobial Therapy service. The successful applicant will be engaged with inpatient Infectious Diseases Unit work, support the OPAT service with Specialist nurses and contribute to the general outpatient clinical service.

As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and / or the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced police criminal records disclosure will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application.

The successful appointee will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical audit. They will be required to undertake management duties and work in a multidisciplinary team. The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust consists of three acute teaching hospitals serving the population of Leicestershire. It is fully committed to Continuing Medical Education for consultants.
