Band 5 Staff Nurses

Frailty Unit (AFU/EFU)

Full Time / Part Time / Flexible working options available

We are looking for dynamic enthusiastic Band 5 nurses to work on the Frailty Unit (AFU/EFU) at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI). The area is a fast paced medical environment where a wealth of experience can be gained.

The Frailty Unit are 2 wards and are newly designed admissions unit specialising in the care of older people who are acutely unwell and specialising in dementia care as part of this the unit has a dementia friendly corridor and café fully staff with meaningful activity coordinators. We receive patients directly from the Emergency Department. This provides staff with an excellent opportunity to develop acute nursing assessment and prioritising skills.

In addition we benefit from an established multidisciplinary team including geriatricians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and meaningful activity co-ordinators, providing a wealth of specialist knowledge and input to provide the best outcome for our patients.

Our aim is to provide a caring compassionate environment for all our patients and families. Therefore, we are looking for dynamic nurses with excellent communication skills who are motivated to provide a high standard of nursing care. A keen interest in caring for the older person would be desirable as well as the ability and drive to work under pressure.

We actively encourage training and development for all staff and have a variety of opportunities available for band 5 nurses.

The area is an integral part of the new and exciting emergency floor development at the LRI, which will provide future nursing staff with a wealth of opportunity to develop a wide range of emergency assessment and acute nursing skills.

The area offers internal rotation shift patterns.
