Physiotherapy Technical Instructor, 37.5 hours per week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Physiotherapy Technical Instructor to work within a multidisciplinary team on the clinical decisions unit, respiratory medicine, vascular and surgical wards at Glenfield Hospital. The post holder will assist the therapy team in delivering safe and effective, quality treatments including the assessment, rehabilitation and discharge of patients.

You will work alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists and the wider MDT in carrying out comprehensive functional assessments and interventions in order to facilitate patients discharge home. These include education, teaching, progression of exercises and mobility assessments and rehabilitation. You will also be required to carry out general administration and clerical duties.

This post requires a level of personal responsibility and we are looking for someone with the ability to prioritise their own workload, use their initiative and the ability to work on their own and as part of a team. You will demonstrate effective communication and organisational skills and be able to adapt to a changing and pressurised environment.

You will have recent clinical experience working in Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy or Therapy Technical Instructor, Assistant or similar health care role and have a good general level of education.
We actively encourage learning and development and the successful applicant will be involved with the therapy department in-service training programme and be supported in there personal and professional development. As part of a friendly, supportive and proactive team you will also receive regular supervision and appraisals.

The physiotherapy department provides a seven day rostered service and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the rota.
