Renal and Transplant Services Band 5 Staff Nurses

Presently at LGH however we will be relocating to Glenfield; the new transplant ward is presently being constructed and it is planned that the services will move in 2021. We are looking for dynamic enthusiastic Band 5 nurses to work within renal and transplant at the Leicester General Hospital. The area is an acute medical environment where a wealth of experience gained. We offer excellent opportunities and support for development. Ward 10 is an 18 bedded male nephrology ward and 15n a 17 bedded female nephrology ward. Both wards deliver Haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis at the bedside.

Ward 17 is surgical wards who will also deliver haemodialysis at the bedside as well as the transplant team facilitate approximately 120 renal transplants a year.

Renal failure effects all ages and we as a team support our patients through their journey. You will have the opportunity to support patients following trauma, pre and post natal women requiring renal replacement therapy as well as end of life care. Our renal services cover a wide geographical area from Lincoln to Northampton. We are looking for dynamic nurses with excellent communication skills who are motivated to provide a high standard of quality nursing care. A keen interest in caring for acutely unwell medical patients is desirable. We actively encourage training and development for all staff and have an in house training programme and variety of opportunities available for band 5 nurses. You will have allocated mentors and a planned preceptorship / induction programme to support and guide you.
