Speech & Language Therapist – Community Neurological Rehabilitation

As a result of additional funding to the Adult Community Speech & Language Therapy Service in Southampton, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Speech & Language Therapist to join our innovative and dedicated service.

You will be based at the Royal South Hants Hospital in the centre of Southampton. Your role will be to provide rehabilitation to clients with a range of neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s Disease, CVA, dementia, head injury).Rehabilitation will be carried out in a range of settings, for example, outpatient clinics, vocational rehabilitation, groups, domiciliary visits and you will be working with other members of the MDT (e.g. urgent response service, PD Nurse Specialists, etc).You will work within a team of experienced Speech and Language Therapists to provide rehabilitation and there will be opportunities for skill development.

The successful post holder will maintain close links with the wider Community SLT service and have the opportunity take part in service developments. Clinical supervision is offered in either 1:1 or group settings on a monthly basis.There will also be opportunities for peer support.The post holder must have an enthusiasm for providing evidence-based practice and for supporting excellent client care.

The services are part of the Solent Neurological Rehabilitation Services and you will be supported by the Team leaders as well as Speech & Language Therapy colleagues. Car driver and access to a car is essential.
