The NHS Blood and Transplant is an integral part of the NHS. Operating a network of centres across England and North Wales, we collect around 2 million units of blood and tissues a year, converting them into safe and effective blood components, blood and tissue products for use in the treatments of patients.

You will handle a wide range of tasks, including the processing and issuing of blood donations and monitoring of storage equipment. You will have responsibility for ensuring that any incoming blood supplies are properly received and accounted for. In addition you will be performing general administration tasks for the department and using Microsoft office applications.

To be considered you’ll need an A level or NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or extensive experience working in a logistics/supply chain environment, or of working within an NHSBT or hospital laboratory.

As the job involves shift working to cover nights and late evenings as well as weekends and Bank Holidays, we will need you to be flexible in your approach and a good team player. You must be able to keep clear, accurate records and be able to pay attention to detail.
