We have a vacancy for a Medicines Management Assistant at The Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Our team of Medicines Management Assistants (MMAs) in Emergency and Specialist
Medicine work closely with our Technicians and Pharmacists to provide patient focused care
to inpatients, outpatients and patients in our Emergency Department. Our MMAs work in a
number of areas depending on service need, including the Emergency Department, Jarvis
Satellite Pharmacy, Medical admissions and specialist wards.

This role will involve providing high quality medicines management to various areas across
Medicine by ensuring accurate and timely stock management and replenishment is
undertaken, dispensing of urgent items and redistributing patients’ own drugs from ED to inpatient wards. Additionally, ED utilises a computerised storage system and you will be
involved in ensuring this is appropriately maintained.

The successful candidate will be required to take part in the weekend working, bank holiday
working, and evening rotas and will be expected to be flexible to support the requirements of
the team.

The pharmacy service at University Hospitals of Leicester is a key part of the clinical multidisciplinary teams and aims to provide a high level of clinical expertise to patients.

You will be required to Possess NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services, Have good oral and
written communication skills and possess good IT/keyboard skills.
