South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust
Location:

Salary:

Are you looking for a role that is exciting and rewarding, where you can use your skills to communicate in an empathetic manner to help those in a medical emergency?

We need dynamic individuals to join our clinical hub who can work under pressure, sometimes in very stressful and emotional situations.

Our 999 call-takers receive emergency calls, prioritising patients to ensure the most appropriate help is arranged, and where necessary give life-saving instructions. The role is varied, also dealing with requests from hospitals, GPs and other healthcare professionals, as well as enquiries from the general public.

Can you stay calm and professional in a pressurised environment, effectively receiving and recording information accurately? We are a 24/7, 365 days service, and the shift pattern covers these hours.

We need individuals who have a good standard of education to include 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English Language), or equivalent qualifications or experience, and good computer literacy. Some call-centre experience would be an advantage, but not essential.

We will provide a full training programme along with ongoing support in the role. There are good progression opportunities within the clinical hub and the wider Trust for ambitious employees.

We will be holding open evenings for shortlisted candidates which will provide you with a great opportunity to find out more about the role. More information will be sent to candidates once shortlisted.

*Unsocial will be paid under Section 2 of NHS Terms and Conditions. Please see attached A4C Handbook for more details.

Open Evening for this role will take place on Wednesday 28 August, you must attend this to be invited to the interview which are being held week commencing 02 September 2019.

Successfully candidates will start a course commencing on the 28 October 2019.
