Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust provides a range of community health services for both physical and mental health conditions, as well as a range of specialist services supporting people of all ages including family and young people services, mental health, learning disabilities and physical health community and inpatient services.

We deliver services to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our 5500 staff serve a population of one million from over 100 sites across the region.


An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a team of Band 3 Diana Children's Health Care Worker, Special Needs Education. Monday to Friday, Term Time Only 39 weeks of the year pro rota. The successful candidates will work as part of the Diana Children's Community Service team based at Ashfield Academy special school.

• To work as a member of the Diana Children’s Community Service providing education and healthcare support to children/young people with complex healthcare needs, including life limiting/life threatening conditions within the school setting.

• Provide healthcare and educational support in accordance with the child’s care plan/ EHCP/IEP/ statement which has been individually negotiated with the parents/carers/ SENCO

• Support the qualified nursing staff/ SENCO in reviewing each individual child’s care. This post will allow you to work within Ashfield School for pupils between the ages 4 and 19 with a range of special educational needs.

You will be working with highly committed staff, governors and parents, carers all are ensuring pupils achieve the very best possible learning outcomes. For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, rosters are set in advance at a team level and you will be joining an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date. We will consider requests to vary working patterns in line with our flexible working policy.

For all substantive roles the appointment of every new member of staff (excluding medical and dental staff) to a post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, details of which are in our Probation Policy.
