An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to act as an Ambassador for NHS Blood and Transplant Tissue and Eye Services (TES). With appropriate education and support you will become vital to TES as we promote tissue donation in your area. You will be supported by NHSBT employees in your role and educated by NHSBT in order to fulfil the role of Ambassador. This opportunity is a chance to be involved with saving and improving patients lives

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  • To always act as an Ambassador for NHSBT
  • To always act within the core values of NHSBT
  • To always work within your competencies
  • To keep up to date with tissue requirement from National Referral Centre.

 

You will be required to complete some education to support you in your role as Ambassador. You will be required to use your excellent communication skills when dealing with the general public and also when supporting NHSBT staff in their duties. The Ambassador role will enable you to be supported as part of a team and to support the team in their roles.

As an Ambassador

  • You will be informing and raising public awareness regarding tissue donation.
  • Who can donate tissues?
  • Which tissues people are able to donate?
  • How people can let their wishes about donation be known?
  • You will be educated by TES staff and always be supported in the role.
  • You will be able to answer basic questions regarding tissue donation
  • You will give out leaflets and promotional material. TES will ensure you have sufficient knowledge to carry out your role to enable you to talk confidently about tissue donation.

  • Work with TES on any new education requirements, as and when this becomes necessary.
  • Respect and ensure dignity and beliefs of everyone you have contact with performing your role.

We are looking for ambassadors to work in the Romford Area, Essex.
