We are currently recruiting a permanent Genetic Counsellor Band 7 post at the North East Thames Regional Genetic Service, which has responsibility for providing genetic services across North-East London and Essex. The service is based at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The successful applicant will be a core member of the Clinical Genetics team and will provide a high-quality genetic counselling service across the region. Applicants should have previous experience of managing an autonomous clinical caseload. Applicants should also have experience of teaching and be willing to adapt to the changing needs of the service.

In addition, we have opportunities for fixed term Genetic Counsellor Band 6/7 posts.

We would welcome applications for both positions from candidates with expertise and interest in both cancer and general genetics. The exact format for the jobs is negotiable dependent on candidate’s experience.

Applicants are expected to be registered with the Genetic Counsellor Registration Board (GCRB) to be appointed at Band 7. Applicants registered with equivalent overseas boards may also be considered for band 7.

Applications will be considered from individuals who are not registered or not yet eligible to register. Appointment will be at band 6 until Registration is achieved.
