A unique opportunity has arisen to join our established and dynamic Oncology Nursing team. We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse that has a genuine interest to develop their career within this specialty an individual who is passionate about providing a high standard of care to their patients. You should be highly patient focused, motivated, flexible and enthusiastic, keen to learn new skills and have a passion to work within the cancer care setting.

You will be responsible for Ward 40 which is a 19 bedded mixed sex oncology ward. With the support of your ward sister you will take on a leadership role in the team. As the deputy of the ward you will ensure that day to day your patients receive a high quality of care and that your team provide that standard of care and excellence that all patients should expect to be delivered. You will work along side two other deputies in the team so collectively you will build a strong leadership team with your ward sister.

As a Band 6 nurse you will be a team player, possess excellent communication skills and have initiative, vision and enthusiasm to continually develop yourself, the team and the service. The successful candidate will demonstrate clinical leadership and sound decision making skills. You would be part of an integrated multidisciplinary team ensuring high quality care remains at the heart of the oncology service at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
