An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated and experienced individual to work within a team of Senior Sisters providing direction and inspirational leadership to the nursing and multi-disciplinary team within our Intensive Care Unit.

The Leicester General Hospital is a busy 12 bedded Unit with plans to reconfigure it services. The Unit accepts patients from a range of elective surgical specialities and emergencies from across the hospital. The post holder will be accountable and responsible for ICU, visible, accessible and responsive to the needs of service users, patients, carers and the public.

The post holder will be an expert clinical practitioner, be required to work shifts, and be an enthusiastic integral member of our well established and committed team of health care professionals and clerical staff.

Wider responsibilities include the provision of a supportive learning environment for continuing education; reporting to the Matron and supporting the wider organisation; reduction of risk; carrying out audits; managing resources and information; and co-ordinating elective and emergency activity and the provision of care within the Intensive Care Service at UHL.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in an ITU environment and should have experience of working at Band 6 level. A period of supervision and structured training and support will be available and we can offer a wide range of development opportunities.

This is a fantastic time to join our team as we prepare for many exciting changes and the reconfiguration of ITU services across UHL.
