NHSBT is an ambitious and progressive organisation that is currently undertaking significant large-scale ICT changes. Central to this is an ICT infrastructure refresh programme/portfolio to deliver locally based ICT tools that staff need to ensure the safe supply of products and services to donors, hospitals and patients in the most cost-effective way, ensuring that staff working at NHSBT sites will have the tools required to do their job effectively by leveraging and exploiting opportunities provided by modern technology.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of this this key ICT portfolio/programme of work, within the agreed schedule and quality standards. This includes:

  • Managing the interfaces and communications with the senior stakeholders, including the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO), the Business Change Lead, the Business Leads and Operations Leads. The SRO is normally an NHSBT Executive Director.
  • Preparing and maintaining portfolio and programme plans and publishing these to the SRO and the Change Programme Board;
  • The line management of his/her team of project management staff, including setting and monitoring objectives and personal development plans ensuring that they are highly motivated, operate to the highest professional standards, and comply with all relevant internal and external standards, regulations and instructions, including Quality Assurance, GMP and building regulations;
  • The development and ongoing management of partnerships with external suppliers;
  • Assuring project and programme or portfolio products;
  • Communicating service-related information to decision makers, the Programme Management Office (PMO), Business Lead, programme and project teams to achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of the NHSBT Portfolio, Programme and Project Management tools and methods.

The successful candidate may be based at any of our main locations, Birmingham, Leeds (to relocate to Barnsley in 2020), Bristol, Manchester, Colindale, Tooting - final location to be agreed at interview

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship
