Exciting leadership opportunities within the North West NHS Genomic Laboratory Hub


Building on the NHS contribution to the 100,000 Genomes Project, the introduction of a national genomic medicine service has created 7 Genomic Laboratory Hubs. The North West GLH will be hosted by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

The North West Genomics Laboratory Hub is now seeking an experienced Head of Genomics Informatics Strategy.


Providing leadership and direction for the informatics component of the GLH you will ensure effective input is provided to support both our operational delivery and our strategic development. You will work in collaboration with staff and clinical partners and be a representative and advocate for the GLH both internally and at key external stakeholder groups. This role plays a key role in maximising our influence and ability to shape our genomics agenda.

About you


You’ll need to be an experienced leader and Informatician with specialist managerial IM&T knowledge acquired through specific experience and substantial programmes of knowledge development.


You’ll have demonstrable experience of working with genomics data and systems and a track record of establishing and implementing complex informatics solutions across significant geographies. You will also need to demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between clinical and research environments.


We also expect you to be innovative, creative with an understanding of how to move ideas to business deliverables, focused on achievement and committed to collaboration, and have demonstrated exemplary behaviour consistent with the Trust values.
